Private law firm established in November 2017, born from the collaboration of members who were part of Totti & Rodríguez Diaz. The work team of MCD Law has experience in notary, mortgage and real estate, labor law, corporate law, commercial and residential closings, bankruptcies and commercial matters.

Our story began in Totti & Rodriguez Díaz, where we became colleagues and friends. After Hurricane Maria, Totti & Rodriguez Díaz closed and we were forced to step up. Despite the challenges that Hurricanes Irma and Maria brought upon the Island, our lives and our business in general, we were able to overcome them and open a successful law firm on our own. Originally, we were three very different women at different stages of our lives. Nonetheless we were able to pull ourselves together and create the small boutique law firm that is now known as: MCD LAW LLC. M, for Maru; C is for Cristina and D is for Denise, the first names of our three founding partners.

2020 came and our lives were transformed once again, in January Puerto Rico went through a series of earthquakes that paralyzed the island for the better part of that month. Then came COVID-19 in March. We were forced to close our physical offices due to the government-imposed lockdown. However, we continued counseling and supporting our clients by providing legal services remotely. You see since our inception we made sure that we were able to work 100% remotely. Even our assistants can work from home. The Pandemic did not stop us, even though the curve ball that hit us has changed the way we all do business, probably for good, we are confident that our resiliency, dedication and determination will get us through.

We are now two women and an of-counsel that, despite the many challenges that life has thrown us in the past three years, have persevered and are committed to continue serving our clients in a professional, cost effective way.
